John Deere Collectors Center Tractor and Memorabilia Auctions

MOLINE, Illinois – The John Deere Collectors Center will hold its 9th annual tractor and memorabilia auctions at the John Deere Collectors Center in Moline, Ill., June 26-28, 2008.

This year’s auctions will feature a broad selection of vintage John Deere tractors and equipment, with an exciting collection of John Deere memorabilia. An antique tractor ride and show are also scheduled for a complete weekend of John Deere fun.

The event will kick off on Thursday, June 26, with a John Deere antique tractor ride. The riders will start at the John Deere Collectors Center and make their way to the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Ill. Here participants will tour the combine manufacturing facility, have lunch nand a presentation at the factory’s new Visitors Center, and then loop back to the Collectors Center.

Vintage tractors and equipment in original and restored condition will be displayed in the parking lot at the John Deere Collectors Center, June 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and June 28 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Like previous years, the auctions will focus on memorabilia on Friday and tractors and implements on Saturday. Friday’s memorabilia auction starts at 11 a.m. and will be held at the Stoney Creek Inn Conference Center in downtown Moline. Some of the highly-collectible items on the auction include one of the most complete pocket ledger collections, John Deere “E” gas engine with “Deere” cast into the water hopper, and a rare John Deere centennial picture.

Saturday’s tractor and implement auction begins at 9 a.m. and will take place directly in front of the John Deere Collectors Center, rain or shine. Equipment expected to draw intense bidding by collectors and auction-goers include a Waterloo Boy Model “R”, and 330 and 320 Tractors.

An example of nearly every model of John Deere two-cylinder tractor will be represented, offering an outstanding selection.

Limited seating will be available on Saturday, however guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Admission to all events is free, except those participating in the tractor ride.
