“This collection is truly amazing,” said Matt Price, auctioneer for Blue Hound Auctions, commenting on the collection, “I made a cardinal sin when I went to go see it, I was awed by what I have seen – I am a science fiction geek.” The collection, which started nearly 30 years ago, was started by Joe Castleberry, an avid science fiction collector and TV show host of Sci-Fi Visions.
Joe was hooked on Science fiction in the 60’s and in the 80’s was in the thick of it. During a show on the Discovery Channel, Joe learned of Community Access Television and in 1991, started Sci-Fi Visions, a Community Access TV program on Newark, CA Channel 6 and Fremont, CA Channel 3.
Joe had spent 14 years of reporting on Conventions, Movies, TV, Collectibles, Memorabilia, Models and Interviews and segments featuring actors like Bob May from “Lost In Space, or writers such as L.E. Modesett Jr. and Tad Williams and record producer Neil Norman.
The online auction for these fine items include much of the collections and unique models and molds that was created by Joe, as well as DVD’s, CD’s, and models of WWII vintage cars and trucks. Plus an astounding mix of fantastic 12” figures, starship, records from Star Trek, Star Gate, Star Wars, and many others.
In addition to the collection is a wonderful collection of first print and never released science fiction books, the auctions include original toys and figures, comic books, and special appearances by the robot in Lost in Space (original series) and Robby the Robot from Forbidden Planet.
