A painting by French artist Andre Lhote highlights the auction. The painting, titled Ventadour (Est. $10,000-$20,000), is a colorful tree-lined landscape scene signed by the artist and dated 1910. Included with the piece is an authentication note by the artist’s nephew Jean Gouin.

Also featured are two 19th Century Japanese Imari temple vases. These hand painted imperial vases are decorated with designs that depict colorful landscapes. The taller of the two (Est. $9,000-$18,000) stands at a prodigious 50 inches in height and boasts a scalloped neck painted in bold reds and blues. The smaller vase (Est. $7,500-$15,000) is 39 inches tall and includes an original cover adorned with the figure of a tiger.

A pair of late 19th – early 20th Century bronze torchiere pole lanterns (Est. $10,000-$15,000) are sure to pique auction-goer interest. The electrified lanterns stand just over 6 feet tall and emit a soft orange glow through polished mica shades. The pair comes

from a California estate and was originally part of the private collection of William Randolph Hearst.

Additional fine art offerings include a pastel illustration on artist board (Est. $7,500-$12,500) by American artist Jesse Wilcox Smith (1863-1935). The drawing, which is housed under glass in its original frame, is labeled “No. 2152 Good Housekeeping Magazine Illustrations Mother Goose drawing ‘Curly Locks’ for January 1914.” The piece is signed by the artist. Smith is renowned for her prolific career as an illustrator for magazines and children’s books.

“We’ve received a bevy of rare and remarkable antiques and fine art for our Spring auction,” comments Frank Kaminski, owner of Kaminski Auctions. “We are always looking for items to feature in upcoming auctions and can take consignments in any volume, from a single piece to an entire estate.”
