Montserrat College of Art Benefit Auction

Montserrat College of Art’s (www.montserrat.edu) annual Artrageous!24 benefit art auction will be held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at 72 Cherry Hill Drive, Beverly, MA. http://www.montserrat.edu/

Alumnus Eric Hopkins http://www.montserrat.edu/ of North Haven Island, Maine, will be this year’s Honorary Artist. Through his art and with his thoughts and ideas about life on this Big Blue Planet, Hopkins is internationally known for dynamic patterns of nature captured in watercolors, oils, blown glass and photography. His art appears in U.S. embassies in the Bahamas, Pakistan, Philippines, and the West Indies. He is also represented in the corporate collections of L.L. Bean, Johnson Wax, Sanyo Securities, and Idexx Laboratories.

This year’s Auction Co-Chairs are Linda Harvey and Liz Dellicker.

The Auction includes work by some of the finest professional artists in the region including alumni, faculty, staff, students, trustees and friends. Famous artists like renowned printmaker Will Barnet, and painter Norman Laliberte, photographers Edward Burtynsky and Neal Rantoul are featured, Live and silent auctions will be juried by Carey Vose of Vose Gallery, Martha Richardson of the Martha Richardson Gallery and Zola Solomente of the Arden Gallery.
