Skinner, Inc., one of the world’s leading auction houses for antiques and fine art, has named L. Emerson Tuttle as its new Director of Institutional Relationships. In this strategic role, Tuttle will be responsible for developing, cultivating and maintaining the firm’s ties with trust and estate settlement professionals, museums, and other corporate and not-for-profit institutions.
Tuttle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role. A graduate of Brooks School and Yale University, he earned a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School with a focus on property, trust and estate, and tax law. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
Tuttle has had a thirty-five-year career in the financial services industry, and spent a majority of that time working with high-net-worth individual clients, including a stint managing the Estate Settlement Department of a major Boston financial institution.
He has also been an active participant in the auction market for art and antiques for more than twenty years, both as a collector and as a participant in a family antiques business.
According to Skinner’s Chief Executive Officer Karen Keane, “The goal of this program is to strengthen Skinner’s brand awareness in the institutional marketplace and increase our business with key referral partners such as banks, law firms, financial planners, museum professionals, corporate art buyers, and high-end real estate firms throughout the northeast and in other select geographic locations.” Keane continues, “With a solid background in the financial arena and first-hand knowledge of the auction industry, Emerson Tuttle is well-suited to head this strategic initiative.”
