Tim Squire-Sanders of the Bonhams office in Hove is holding a Valuation Day on April 12th with the well known Bonhams consultant and BBC Antiques Roadshow regular, Dendy Easton.
Bonhams, the international fine art auction house, is the only auction house that holds specialist sales of Marine Pictures, Dogs in Art, South African pictures, Israeli, Aboriginal and Middle Eastern pictures together with the traditional fields of Old Master, Modern British and Victorian. This wide variety of sales ensures that our client’s pictures benefit from the specialised and focussed marketing directed at these sales.
Dendy Easton, a Bonhams consultant and a TV antiques expert says ” It is amazing what still turns up from unexpected sources. Last year I was presented with a typical album put together by a lady on her travels in Europe during the 19th century. Usually these consist of prints and amateur watercolours but I was amazed to find interleaved five amazingly detailed watercolours by the Austrian artist Baltasar Wigands. These subsequently sold in a Topographical sale for the combined price of £23,400 , and the lady still has the rest of the album! ”
Dendy Easton will be at the Hove office in 19 Palmeira Square, BN3 2JN between 10.00am and 4.00pm. If you would like to have a free valuation do contact Tim Squire-Sanders in Hove on 01273 220000 or e-mail him on [email protected] to arrange an appointment. If the picture is too large to bring in then bring some photographs for an initial assessment.
