(Chicago, IL) – Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the #1 wine auction house in the U.S. and renowned wine retailer, will hold its first auction of 2015 on February 13th and 14th at Chicago’s TRU restaurant. This exceptional two-day sale kicks off our new auction year with an impressive 1,850 lots of incredible diversity and provenance, valued at an estimated $3.4-$5.0 million.

Hart Davis HartHDH’s February auction contains a host of great wines from the top wine regions across the globe. Bidders interested in Bordeaux will find over 700 lots from nearly 100 of the region’s top châteaux, with vintages dating from 1929. Burgundy lovers will delight in extensive offerings from DRC, Drouhin, Jadot, Leroy, Liger-Belair, Roumier, Rousseau, and other heralded producers—in fact, total Burgundy sales from this auction are estimated to exceed $1,000,000 in sales. The February auction also contains impressive offerings of Champagne from the renowned 1996 and 2002 vintages, wines from Rhône legends, and Italian gems from Gaja and Ornellaia alongside an array of exciting Bourbon and Scotch. Its similarly impressive selection of new-world wines includes 27 lots of Harlan (est. $43,700-64,600) and 50+ lots of Sine Qua Non (est. $74,500-112,130).

This auction features a number of strong consignments offering unbeatable provenance. Friday’s session opens with wines from a remarkable cellar of a meticulous collector in the upper Midwest, featuring First Growth Bordeaux, rare Rhône, Champagne, and broad selections of Sine Qua Non and whiskey (lots 1-143). Friday also includes an assortment of wine purchased by a private collector from L2O, the recently shuttered Michelin two-starred Chicago restaurant (lots 660-746). These wines were originally acquired on release from local distributors, special allocations direct from producers, and reputable auction houses and were stored in the restaurant’s professional cellar. Notable collections in Saturday’s session include an astonishing collection of Burgundy and Rhône wines (many in rare large formats) from an impeccably maintained, custom-built home cellar (lots 926-1097), as well as an amazing library of Bordeaux imperials from the phenomenal 2005 vintage from the cellar of a highly-regarded connoisseur (lots 1293-1300).
