(Chicago, IL) – Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. is pleased to announce our annual Celebration of Burgundy, an auction devoted exclusively to the wines of Burgundy. This special 2,109 lot sale will be held on April 1st and 2nd in Chicago and is projected to fetch $3,882,560-$5,790,010, making it HDH’s largest Burgundy-only auction to date. Worldwide demand for Burgundy is robust and the scope of this auction is expected to attract bidders from all over North and South America, Europe and Asia.
With just a quick glance through the catalog, bidders will note this auction’s thorough coverage of the region: 159 Burgundian domaines are represented, with vintages ranging from 1961 to 2014. The sale contains an extensive array of wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, encompassing 268 total lots, spanning 36 vintages from 1964-2012. Included is an estimated $57,900-86,100 worth of Montrachet and 230 bottles of La Tâche. Other legendary estates of the Côte d’Or are also represented including 86 lots of Armand Rousseau (est. $253,600-377,550), 98 lots of Domaine Leflaive (est. $144,800-217,200), and 67 lots of Domaine Leroy (est. $138,360-206,600).
