Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. is excited to announce that our seventh annual Celebration of Burgundy sale will be held on April 13th and 14th. This standout sale, which is devoted exclusively to the wines of Burgundy, is projected to be HDH’s largest Burgundy auction yet, featuring 2,602 lots and expected to garner $4.3-6.5 million. Worldwide demand for Burgundy is robust and the scope of this auction is expected to attract bidders from around the globe.
With a quick glance through the catalog, bidders will note the auction’s thorough coverage of the region: 178 Burgundian domaines are represented, with vintages ranging from 1952 to 2016. The sale contains an extensive array of wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, encompassing 299 lots spanning 48 vintages from 1966-2014. Included is an estimated $354,500-531,500 worth of Romanée-Conti and an estimated $332,700-492,600 worth of La Tâche. Other legendary estates represented include 125 lots of Armand Rousseau (est. $290,260-435,510), 81 lots of Domaine Leroy (est. $193,950-288,050), and 129 lots of Domaine Dujac (est. $192,050-287,590).
The wines in HDH’s Celebration of Burgundy sale are some of the most thrilling in the world. They are the crown jewels; they are made in tiny quantities, and in many cases are truly irreplaceable.
Several remarkable lots in the sale include a single magnum of 1990 Vosne-Romanée, Cros Parantoux, Henri Jayer (lot 1563, est. $30,000-45,000); six bottles in original case of 2005 Bonnes-Mares, Georges Roumier (lot 2263, est. $8,000-12,000); three bottles of 1990 Chambertin, Armand Rousseau (lot 1064, est. $7,500-11,000); as well as two bottles of 2005 La Tâche, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (lot 1306, est. $6,500-9,500).
