Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. will be hosting its first live sale of 2018, An Auction of Finest & Rarest Wines on February 15th, 16th & 17th at Spiaggia in Chicago. With over 3,500 lots estimated to realize $6.3-9.4 million, this exceptional three-day sale will be one of the auction house’s largest ever.
This past year, the fine and rare wine market saw great demand for Burgundy. Hart Davis Hart is thrilled to offer over 650 lots of Red Burgundy in the February auction, with an estimated value of $1.5-2.3 million. Bidders should take note of several exceptional lots including 3 bottles of 2012 Romanée-Conti (est. $28,000-42,000); 3 bottles of 2004 Romanée-Conti (est. $26,000-38,000); 10 bottles of 1990 Chambertin, Armand Rousseau (est. $26,000-38,000); and 6 bottles of 2005 La Tâche, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (est. $22,000-32,000).
The February sale also features an estimated $2.6-3.9 million of Red Bordeaux, spanning 1908 to 2014. Highlights include two 12-bottle lots of 1982 Château Lafite Rothschild (est. $26,000-38,000); 1 imperial of 2005 Château Pétrus (est. $22,000-32,000); and 8 bottles of 1982 Château Lafleur (est. $17,000-26,000).
Also of note is the wonderful selection of Champagne, including a collection Direct from the Cellars of Dom Pérignon (lots 3169-3218). The consignment contains several P2 and P3 Vintage Champagnes, spanning 1962 to 1998.
Collectors of fine and rare spirits will find over 200 lots of spirits estimated between $241,650-358,300 including 73 lots of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve, Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Bidders will find 19 lots of the 15-year, 18 lots of the 20-year, 36 lots of the 23-year, and 1 lot of NV Old Rip Van Winkle, 25-year Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
