Friday evening marked the end of Hart Davis Hart’s incredibly successful June sale, solidifying the strength and consistency of the fine wine market this year. As predicted, Champagne and Italian wines continue to act as the dark horse categories of our auctions, eliciting pre-sale bidding frenzies and plenty of live action. From a Trove of European Favorites and many other fabulous consignments, Burgundy hammered high as a category and raked in top performances by Rousseau, Leroy, and DRC.
Highlighted in such groups as The Optometrist’s Cellar, Bordeaux performed exceptionally well. Both mature and younger vintages enjoyed aggressive bidding competition. The impressive large format selections from A Pristine Cellar of Benchmarks tipped the category over the edge, with 3L and 6L offerings of Haut-Brion and other First Growths hammering well above the high estimate.
Our auction season continues July 20th with our next Finest & Rarest sale, and we are currently accepting property in the coming weeks. This is an ideal time to cull your cellar inventory, so please reach out to our team today about consigning or to request a complimentary appraisal: [email protected].
