After a time gap of over thirty years, Richard Winterton is delighted to announce that his family auction business ‘Richard Winterton Auctioneers Ltd’ is relocating their head office and main salerooms back to its home town of Lichfield City Centre this December.
The move from the Fradley site into the heart of Lichfield is partly due to re-development, (at Fradley) and a desire to bring the business back to its roots where the Winterton family started trading as Auctioneers back in the 1870’s.
The Auctioneers have purchased the former Linford’s site at Cross Keys, right behind the market square and a stone’s throw from Lichfield’s historic Cathedral. The site comprises two large modern buildings which have now been transformed into state of the art auction and showrooms with over 15,000 square foot of space. Private secure free parking for clients will also be available.
Richard Winterton comments on the move:
‘I am delighted to be able to bring my family business back to the location where it all started. Being in the town centre will make us much more accessible for clients and it will be an important boost to other businesses in Lichfield and the town centre as a whole. We are finalising a programme of regular auctions not only featuring antiques, fine, decorative art, silver and jewellery but traditional and modern quality furniture and collectables for which we are internationally renowned. Doors at the new Lichfield Auction Centre are due to open early December with the inaugural Fine Art & Collectors Sale taking place on the 12th/13th December. The new full address from early December will be:
