Some of the biggest names in photography recently joined forces to support auction house Christie’s and the first ever Green Auction “A Bid To Save The Earth” charity event.
To coincide with the recent 40th anniversary of Earth Day, 18 of the most celebrated names in photography collaborated to create an impressive two part collection being auctioned for the Christie’s benefit on the website Charitybuzz.com.
Proceeds from the auction are being distributed equally among four of the most effective and well known environmental not-for-profits: Conservation International, Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council and the Central Park Conservatory.
The list of photographers donating work for the two part collection include Matthew Rolston, Peggy Sirota, Sante D’Orazio, Andrew Zuckerman, Kevin Mazur, Timothy White, Roxanne Lowit, Liz Von Hoene, Tim Gaylord, Kwaku Alston, Michael Zeppetello, Jesse Frohman, John Midgley, Nino Munoz, Gustavo Ten Hoever, Michael Muller, Mario Godlewski and an image from Frances McLaughlin-Gill via a donation from Conde Nast. The online auction ends May 6th.
