Soundfront Estate in North Carolina to Be Sold at Auction

Grand Estates Auction Co., America’s top luxury real estate auction firm, is offering a resort-style estate on North Carolina’s Outer Banks that offers unmatched panoramic water views and easy access to one of the nation’s most desired beach areas.

The auction at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, is “absolute,” where the lack of a minimum bid or reserve immediately establishes the true market value and assures a prompt sale that benefits both buyer and seller.

Located in Southern Shores near the northern end of the Outer Banks, this 8,000-plus-square-foot home offers 500 feet of frontage on the Roanoke Sound on a large private peninsula lot with two large boat docks. Built in 2005, the estate features seven bedrooms with spectacular water views from each room, in addition to eight and a half bathrooms. Filled with open areas, it boasts a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and an expansive two-car garage.

With more 1,500 square feet of decks, patios and porches, the home offers views of the Atlantic Ocean and also includes an outdoor spa and indoor heated, salt-water pool with a water-jet treadmill. The homeowner can relax in the private five-person sauna, rest in the custom library or enjoy time in the climate-controlled workshop.

The Outer Banks are known as the Land of Beginnings, home to the first settlers and the first colony, the first flight by the Wright brothers and the first national seashore. It offers homeowners world-renowned sailing as well as fishing, biking, local cuisine and much more.

Grand Estates’ auctions have an 11-year track record of quickly selling multi-million-dollar homes that previously languished on the market with conventional sales-listing methods. In May, Grand Estates sold the penthouse condo of former Coca-Cola Enterprises CEO John R. Alm in Atlanta’s Buckhead area in a lively auction that attracted more than 350 inquiries. In April, Grand Estates sold a five-bedroom estate in the Sullivan’s Island section of Charleston, S.C., in an absolute auction after being listed with two real estate firms for four years without a single offer. In January, a penthouse condo in the heart of Lionshead Village in Vail, Colo., which had been on the market for a year without a showing, sold in five minutes after 60 families previewed the property.

Understanding that casting the widest net will attract the most qualified bidders, Grand Estates’ 20-person team utilizes its broad experience in marketing luxury real estate to produce attention-grabbing marketing materials and advertising in national and international high-end publications. “The system developed by Grand Estates offers an exclusive experience similar to auctioning fine art,” said Stacy Kirk, president of Grand Estates, with offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas, La Jolla, Calif., Naples, Fla., and Vail, Colo. “The multi-million-dollar property buyer is very specific in what they’re seeking, and we understand this market better than anyone.”

Prospective bidders may tour the property starting June 25. Grand Estates auctions are open only to registered bidders, who are required to submit a $50,000 refundable cashier’s or certified check prior to the auction. Prospective bidders and sellers should contact Grand Estates Auction Co. at 800 552-8120 or 704 529-0026 for bid registration requirements and to inquire about the showing schedule before the auctions.
