Sale Features First Growth Bordeaux, Top Vintages of DRC; Sine Qua Non Dinner Held on June 24th
(Chicago, IL) – Hart Davis Hart Wine Co., the internationally renowned wine auction house and retailer, will hold an exciting auction of Finest and Rarest Wines on June 24th and 25th at award-winning restaurant Tru, located at 676 North St. Clair Street in Chicago. This exceptional sale will feature private cellars from all areas of the United States and includes an encyclopedic collection of First Growth Bordeaux, from such top vintages as 1982, 1989, 1995, 2000 and 2005.
The sale will feature an impressive 53 lots of Burgundy from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti including a rare jeroboam of 1990 La Tâche (estimated at $11,000-$17,000), as well as seven lots of DRC Montrachet, regarded by many to be the finest of all white wines.
Additional highlights include vast offerings of Sine Qua Non featuring 38 lots (estimated at $58,010-$87,250), including a double magnum in OWC of the 100-point 2002 Sine Qua Non Syrah, Just For The Love Of It. Comprehensive offerings from Screaming Eagle are also featured throughout the sale with an exciting 68 bottles and 3 magnums on offer, spanning every vintage produced from 1992 to 2007.
The auction, which includes a total of 1817 lots, is estimated to fetch $4.7-$7.0 million and will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m on both days. Attendance is open to the public and free of charge. As part of the auction, Hart Davis Hart will host a special dinner featuring the unique and widely-acclaimed wines of Sine Qua Non on Friday, June 24th at Blackbird Restaurant. Chefs Paul Kahan and David Posey of Michelin-starred Blackbird Restaurant will prepare a five-course dinner to pair with nine exciting wines including the 100-point Syrahs Poker Face and Just For The Love Of It.
