Bonhams announces its July 27 Fine & Rare Wines auction in San Francisco, simulcast in New York and Los Angeles.
Highlighting the auction of more than 700 lots will be selections from the large cellar of a California collector, containing a variety of perfectly preserved white Burgundies, German Rieslings and California Cabernets.
Notable offerings will include a mixed case of 1985 Raveneau Chablis (est. $4,000-5,000); a six-bottle lot of 1985 Ramonet Montrachet (est. $9,000-12,000); a six-bottle lot of 1985 Ramonet Batard-Montrachet (est. $3,000-4,500); and a six-bottle lot of mixed 1985 & 1986 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet (est. $3,500-4,800).
Also special in the sale will be the second offering from the cellar of Villa Nova Restaurant, which includes additional Italian rarities, and a variety of classic Bordeaux and California wines. From this collection will be a 12-bottle lot of mixed vintages of Sassacaia (est. $1,500-2,200) and a 12-bottle lot of mixed vintages of Soldera Brunello di Montalcino (est. $2,200-3,200).
Additional highlights will include a three-bottle case of 2007 Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon (est. $5,500-$7,500), a 12-bottle lot of 1989 Domaine d’Auvenay Meursault, Pré de Manche (est. $3,000-$4,000), and a mixed six bottle lot of 1986 Coche-Dury Meursault (est. $3,500-$4,500).
